Corporate digitalisation not only increases flexibility, but oftentimes results in higher security and more convenience. It is now entirely possible to sign legally binding documents using a mobile phone or other devices. These digital signatures serve as your customers’ virtual ID, helping them navigate bureaucracy without paper.
With a single solution by Austrian Post, you can create and receive digital signatures across all devices. Whether you choose a smartphone, tablet, or notebook: the digital signature allows you and your customers to leverage the full potential of digitalisation.
For businesses, there are various ways to digitally sign business documents, contracts, and more – or to have them countersigned by customers.
Enable your customers to sign PDF documents using their mobile phone signature – no additional device required, neither on your side nor on the customer’s. Here's how it works:
For electronic signatures on smartphones or tablets, no additional mobile device is required. If you have suitable in-house devices, documents can be signed directly on them using a handwritten signature with a finger. In addition to an image of the signature, additional data can be recorded for clear identification, including writing speed, pen pressure, etc.
Austrian Post supports all signature types used and officially recognised in the EU. In addition to the simple electronic signature, these include the qualified electronic signature, which is subject to specific requirements.
The simple electronic signature is linked to a natural person and includes at least the person’s name or pseudonym.
This type of signature must be uniquely linked to the signer. This can be achieved, for example, by uploading an identity document. In addition, the signature must be created using means that are under the sole control of the signer.
A qualified electronic signature is legally equivalent to a handwritten signature on paper. It clearly identifies the signer, and the associated certificate can be validated online. Qualified signatures are issued and verified by trust service providers within the EU. Our e-signature solution uses ID Austria in Austria and also integrates trust service providers from other EU member states. For businesses, this type of digital signature is typically used for contract execution or internal approvals.
The electronic official seal is used to clearly identify documents as official government-issued papers. It is visibly affixed to decisions and other documents. This ensures that the document originates from the relevant authority and retains its validity even in printed form. For example, this guarantees the authenticity of official documents you receive via electronic delivery from public authorities.
Last year alone, IGV recorded around 5,000 digital signatures with our solution.
