First-class training programme starting in autumn 2025
EN
Austrian Post is continuously developing its training programme. Starting in September 2025, a new apprenticeship will be offered: the current apprenticeship in “Local and Distribution Logistics” will evolve into the modernised profession of “Letter and Parcel Logistics.”
With specialisations in distribution and logistics centres, the entire delivery process – especially the so-called “last mile” – will be brought more sharply into focus. The training combines technical expertise with organisational skills and opens up a wide range of career opportunities within the Group. From attractive employee benefits via the in-house “goodie” platform to meal vouchers, the chance to complete A-levels alongside the apprenticeship, and even driver’s licence funding after completion – Austrian Post is a secure, diverse and forward-looking employer for young talent.
Peter Umundum, Deputy CEO, Austrian Post: “With this new apprenticeship, we are creating a training path that meets the demands of modern logistics – hands-on, future-oriented and with clear development opportunities for young talent. We are investing specifically in the next generation of logistics experts and now offer eight different apprenticeships, giving young people a wide range of options to suit their interests.”
The distribution specialisation covers delivery operations, route planning, complaints handling and administrative tasks. The logistics centres focus includes sorting processes, item receiving, conveyor technology and further processing. Both specialisations place greater emphasis on organisational tasks such as personnel scheduling, quality management and project work – creating various career paths, for example in team coordination or as deputy site manager.
Around 250 apprentices are currently training in one of eight exciting apprenticeship professions. Austrian Post's in-house “Apprentice Academy” offers practice-oriented, personalised seminars that support individual strengths and open up new perspectives. Only a few places remain for the 2025 intake. In addition to hands-on training, Austrian Post offers strong benefits: apprentices can combine their training with A-levels (Matura), and the company will finance a driver’s licence for anyone who remains with the business for two years after completing the programme. The recently launched “goodie” platform offers numerous rewards and discounts, meal vouchers, a free account with bank99, health services, and much more. With a monthly apprentice salary ranging from approximately 1,000 to 1,900 euros gross and genuine career progression opportunities, Austrian Post is a top choice for motivated team players. School leavers with A-levels are also welcome – what counts most is motivation, a willingness to learn, and team spirit.
